It's been a good run, 80° highs and quiet weather. But it's October, and it's time to get back to reality. Our current run of warmth and quiet weather will go out with a bang Saturday as a thundery day unfolds across the Ozarks.

The evening will remain clear and quiet, but scattered showers and storms will develop across Southwest Missouri by sunrise, building northeast up the interstate through mid-morning. No severe weather is expected with the early day activity, but lightning and heavy rain can be expected with a few storms possibly producing small hail.

As rain and thunder focus along the interstate, areas further south will remain dry. This is the area where storms will likely get more ugly as the atmosphere becomes more unstable. By late morning, a line of stronger storms will tak
