CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (WDBJ) - A man was arrested after an attempted break-in Friday, October 17, according to Clifton Forge Police.

Clifton Forge Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Church Street, where a man at the residence was attempting to break into his neighbor’s apartment while armed with a knife, according to police.

Police say the suspect went inside of his residence upon the officers’ arrival and began speaking to them through the screen door before retreating into the residence and closing the storm door. The suspect told officers he was armed with a knife, according to police. Police say they maintained contact with the suspect through the door for several minutes.
