AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas National Guard are ramping up their operations in Austin ahead of an anti-Trump administration protest this weekend.

The "No Kings" rally is set for Saturday, with a march planned between the State Capitol and Auditorium Shores.

The event is expected to bring thousands to the Capitol grounds.

“It's a nonviolent day of action where folks across the country and across the world will be getting out,” President of "Hands off Central Texas," Sophia Mirto said.
