In response to the recent outbreak of violence in Leh, the Government of India has ordered a judicial inquiry to investigate the incident, said Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

During a press conference held on Friday, Kotwal said, “Today, the Government of India has ordered a judicial inquiry to be conducted by a Supreme Court judge… This judicial inquiry will be chaired by former Supreme Court Justice Dr BS Chauhan. Administrative support will be provided by one of our IAS officers. Judicial assistance will be provided by a senior judicial officer.”
