The trainer’s table at Evergreen High School was a busy place to be this week.
With an estimated 13 players getting treated for injuries, according to Evergreen football coach Christian Swain, the Plainsmen’s depth has been tested in recent weeks.
Yet despite a thinned-out roster, particularly on defense, the Plainsmen put together one of their most complete performances of the season Friday in a 41-21 win against Prairie at McKenzie Stadium.
Senior Malukai Turner-Hodges rushed for 126 yards and four touchdowns, striking a perfect balance to Evergreen’s potent passing attack led by quarterback Jayden Baum’s 262 yards and two touchdowns.
“We’re letting everybody know that we’re here, we’re here to play and we’re a force to be reckoned with,” Turner-Hodges said.
