Millions nationwide are expected to take part in nonviolent demonstrations

Millions of people are expected to participate in a coordinated day of peaceful protest on October 18 as part of the nationwide “No Kings Day of Peaceful Action”, a movement organized in opposition to what backers describe as authoritarian overreach by President Trump.

Protests are scheduled in Santa Monica, Venice, Beverly Hills, and Pico Robertson, as well as a large demonstration in Downtown Los Angeles.

The mobilization follows a June 14 day of action that organizers say drew more than five million participants across all 50 states.
