Deputies Say Speed Appears to Be a Factor in Rear-End Collision
Early Friday in West Hollywood, a yellow Ford Mustang convertible traveling at high speed struck the rear of a Metro bus, killing the driver and injuring a passenger, authorities said.
The crash was reported just after 1:00 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard and North Orange Grove Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Video from the scene showed the Mustang badly damaged and positioned sideways after the impact.
A second person in the car was transported to a hospital; officials did not immediately release that individual’s condition. It was not clear whether anyone on the bus was hurt.
