Bhubaneswar police have announced that bursting firecrackers beyond 9 PM on Diwali night will lead to legal action, including arrests and vehicle seizures.

DCP Jagmohan Meena has issued clear instructions ahead of the festival. This year, the deadline for bursting crackers is 9 PM—not 10 PM as in previous years. Only green crackers are permitted, and any high-decibel firecrackers will result in police intervention.

Authorities have also warned against public intoxication during Diwali celebrations. Anyone found consuming alcohol and roaming the streets will face arrest, and their vehicles will be impounded.
