Ahead of Diwali, the Cuttack Police have announced time restrictions on bursting firecrackers in the city. Residents can burst crackers only between 7 PM and 9 PM. The order follows similar restrictions already enforced in Bhubaneswar.

Reason Behind the Restrictions

Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP Rishikesh Khilari) said the decision aims to control air and noise pollution during Diwali. He urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and follow the guidelines issued by the State Pollution Control Board.

“As Diwali is tomorrow, I request every citizen of Cuttack to follow the rules and burst crackers only between 7 PM and 9 PM,” said DCP Khilari.
