Rangiya: An Army jawan, returning to duty after leave, turned into a saviour for an eight-month-old infant on the New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express on October 13.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence on Saturday, Sepoy Sunil – an ambulance assistance at the 456 Field Hospital at the Borarupak Military Station in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh – was travelling in the S4 compartment of the train when the child developed severe respiratory distress. This happened around 4.30 pm. According to a senior MoD official, the child turned unresponsive and her mother fainted, believing that she had died. There was confusion all around as the train sped towards its destination.
