Come the New Year, Indians will be able to send packages anywhere across the country within 24 hours via India Post. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Friday, October 17, that the new single-day speed delivery will be rolled out nationwide by January 2026. The fastest delivery service available at India Post takes three to five days for package delivery.

Besides speed delivery, the minister further added that the government-owned postal system will introduce guaranteed delivery within 48 hours across metros and state capitals by January 2026.

By March 2026, it will also ensure last-mile product delivery for products on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
