The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has said it suspects no foul play in the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, adding that the investigation is expected to be complete in another three months.

In a statement, the SPF said it is aware of speculation and false information circulating online regarding the circumstances of his death, while stating preliminary investigation suggests no foul play.

"The case is currently being investigated by the SPF, in accordance with Singapore’s Coroners Act 2010. Based on preliminary investigations, the SPF does not suspect foul play," it said in the statement.

Garg, a singer-filmmaker and a youth icon, passed away in a swimming accident in Singapore on September 19. Garg's passing has caused public outrage in his home state, Assam, with many protesti
