WAPPAPELLO, Mo. (WSIL) -- One person was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash in southeast Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated on October 16, at 2:40 p.m., a 49-year-old man from Portageville was driving a 2022 GMC Savannah going east when he traveled off the road, hit a mailbox and crashed in a ditch.

State police said he was taken by ambulance to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Authorities said the GMC Savannah was totaled.
