It’s one of the most anticipated new Bristol restaurant openings of the year but what should we expect from Flat Iron?

The new steak restaurant opens its doors in December in Clare Street - in what was previously Three Wise Monkeys - but I couldn’t wait that long, so paid a visit to the original Flat Iron in London’s Soho to see what all the fuss is about.

The restaurant opened in 2012, a few months after founder Charlie Carroll tested the water with a pop-up above a pub in Shoreditch.

There are now 15 Flat Iron restaurants in London and the chain has expanded with sites in Cambridge, Leeds and Manchester, with Brighton, Bristol and Newcastle next on the list.
