Woman fatally shot exiting private bus in Fuller Park

Detectives were investigating after a woman was fatally shot exiting a private bus in Chicago's Fuller Park neighborhood, police said.

The shooting was reported at approximately 12:40 a.m. Saturday in the 5400 block of South Shields Avenue near West Garfield Boulevard. According to authorities, a 40-year-old woman was getting off a private bus when an unidentified suspect, who was inside the bus, produced a gun and fired shots.

The victim was shot in the right thigh and taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody as of late Saturday morning.
