FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - October is Family History Month.

In celebration, the Allen County Public Library and its Genealogy Center have been celebrating with a full month of free programs ‘designed to inspire, educate, and connect individuals with their families’ stories’.

The celebrations continue Saturday with the library’s ‘Making the Records Talk’ program.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., nationally-recognized African American research experts Timothy Pinnick and Janis Forte as well as the African American Genealogical Society of Fort Wayne, will be at the ACPL’s Main Library to teach community members ‘strategies for interpreting historical records to bring family stories into focus’.

The event is free and open to the public.
