VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Down in Vincennes this Saturday was a movement to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease.

Those who have Parkinson's or know someone with it gathered at Gregg Park Saturday morning. This event was hosted by the YMCA of Vincennes in partnership with Good Samaritan Hospital.

The group started with stretches, increasing mobility, and easing into the walk. Then the walk was a mile around the park with everyone moving at their own pace. Participants could also enjoy free refreshments and other activities such as boxing demonstrations and resource connections.

The goal of this event is to not only spread awareness, but to also empower those struggling with Parkinson's to increase their mobility.
