HAILEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —Any additional money for education makes a difference in the classroom.

Blaine County teachers will receive grants from the Blaine County Education Foundation (BCEF) to benefit their students.

The BCEF has two grant cycles: one in the spring and one in the fall. In September, teachers submitted applications, and now the grants are being disbursed across the school district. Deborah Van Law, executive director of the foundation, said the grants are highly sought after.

“During a good year, about 20 to $25,000 a cycle in grants and during a year we might have 50 to 60 different asks,” Van Law said.

Through the generosity of donors and grant funding, the BCEF is able to fund initiatives. Van Law said the foundation approved 15 projects this funding cycle.
