Massachusetts is poised to enjoy one final day of sun and warmth this weekend before a shift brings rain and cooler conditions to start the new week.

Across the state, Sunday is expected to have a high of around 70 degrees under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service .

The Cape and Islands will be the coolest spot during the day, hitting a high near 65 degrees with a light south wind that will pick up during the morning.

Inland from Boston to Worcester and west to Springfield and the Berkshires, Sunday will be sunny with highs hitting the 70-degree mark.

Boston and Worcester will feel light south and southwestern breezes of 5 to 10 mph. However, for Springfield and the Berkshires, southerly winds will be a bit more brisk, gusting up to 21 to 24 mph.
