GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 22-year-old woman is dead after a Friday night shooting in the 1900 block of New Garden Road, Greensboro police said.

Officers responded to the scene at about 10:25 p.m. When officials arrived, they located Mircedezes Edwards. First responders attempted life-saving measures, however Edwards died at the scene, police said.

An active investigation into the shooting is ongoing. This is the city’s 29th homicide of 2025.
