ARLINGTON, Va. — Despite the government shutdown, the 50th annual Marine Corps Marathon will still take place on Oct. 26. The marathon is set to begin at 7:20 a.m. on Rt. 110 in Arlington County.
A record-breaking 40,000 runners are registered which makes this the largest field in event's history. Organizers also say that the milestone makes the 2025 MCM the third-largest marathon in North America, surpassing the Boston Marathon in size for the first time.
MCM recommends that runners arrive as early as possible before the start time to ensure they are able to get through security, drop off bags and line up in the appropriate corral.
Runners, spectators, and volunteers are strongly encouraged to use the Metro or ridesharing to get to the race. The Metro will open at 5 a.m. on race day. T
