LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A family in Loudoun County said they are seeking accountability from school administrators. They said the educational and behavioral programs of their child, who has non-verbal autism, were violated.

The family met with Loudoun County School District officials on Friday, hoping to get a step closer to a resolution. They said they want change for their son and for all children with special needs.

Simmy Bell is a 15-year-old sophomore at Stone Bridge High School. His parents said he is nonverbal and has autism.

"We were very big advocates for our children,” said his mother, Melody Bell.

Melody and her husband Simuel have a binder filled to the brim with their communications with Simmy's school and have a detailed individual education plan and a behavior intervention
