We're tracking a significant shift in our weather pattern as we head into the weekend and beyond here in the Willamette Valley. High pressure has been keeping things calm across the region, but that ridge is starting to break down and we're already seeing clouds stream into the western parts of our viewing area thanks to an approaching weather system.
This system is expected to bring showers overnight, setting us up for a damp start to Sunday. Sunday itself looks like a mix of showers and some partly cloudy skies, with breezy southwesterly winds picking up, especially along the coast and in higher elevations. We'll be keenly monitoring the potential for strong gusts reaching up to 25-35 mph in some areas, which could pose a risk to loose outdoor items.
Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday
