NASHVILLE, TN (KLFY) -- #17 Vanderbilt defeated #10 LSU 31-24 on Saturday, marking the Commodores' first 6-1 start in 75 years.

Led by quarterback Diego Pavia, who passed for 160 yards and a touchdown and ran for 86 yards and two more touchdowns, Vanderbilt's offense proved too much for LSU.

Vanderbilt's offense was efficient, punting only twice, both times in the fourth quarter.

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, including a 62-yard pass to Zavion Thomas.

However, LSU's defense struggled, allowing Vanderbilt to convert 6 of 13 third downs and 2 of 3 fourth downs.
