A Maple Grove woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2020 fatal shooting of her boyfriend, with prosecutors acknowledging that she was a victim of domestic violence.
On Thursday, Stephanie Louise Clark, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter in the death of Donjuan Butler.
Clark was sentenced to more than 25 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the March 5, 2020, shooting, but she was later granted a new trial by the Minnesota Court of Appeals due to prior abusive and threatening behavior by Butler.
Clark reportedly claimed she feared Butler would try to kill her or her 5-year-old son.
Her new plea "acknowledges both her role in causing his death and the context in which it occurred," according to the Hennepin C
