NEW HAVEN – A new turf was debuted in New Haven last month. The Rockets also launched their first victory of the season Friday at home.

Even in a year where the Rockets have been outscored by a 254-123 margin, New Haven displayed a vaunted attack Friday to post a 55-14 thumping of Burton Bentley in a non-conference game.

Darrien Wilmer powered the way with six carries for 161 yards and three touchdowns, while Ryan Abuan added eight carries for 157 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion run for the Rockets. Journey Parker had five carries for 68 yards, and Steven Marks added 10 carries for 66 yards and one touchdown for New Haven.

Parker also had one catch for 17 yards to set up a touchdown play, and Abuan had a 42-yard touchdown catch for the Rockets. Parker was 1-for-6 passin
