CLOQUET, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Monsters, heroes and costumed runners filled the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College campus Saturday for the 20th annual Pumpkin 5K Run and Walk.
The day kicked off with the Ring Road Fun Run, where kids raced around the campus before the main event began at 10 a.m. Runners started on campus roads, continued onto 14th Street, and looped back to the finish line on campus.
Race coordinator Taylor Warnes said the long-running event brings the community together while showing off the college’s scenic setting.
“We like to say we’re the Northland’s oldest Halloween-themed race,” Warnes said. “The costume contest is a big part of the Pumpkin Run — it gets everyone in the Halloween spirit. Kids get really into it, and honestly, all ages do. We’ve seen s
