HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Jo’shon Barbie rushed for both of Marshall’s overtime touchdowns to secure the Thundering Herd’s 40-37 win over shellshocked Texas State to make Homecoming a happy one Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Barbie’s first TD started overtime and covered 4 yards. The Bobcats responded with Lincoln Pare’s 1-yard rushing TD to force a second session.
Texas State got the ball first in the second overtime and settled for a 29-yard field goal by Tyler Robles. He had booted a 50-yard field goal on the final play of regulation to force overtime.
On Marshall’s ensuing possession, Barbie ended it with the 1-yard run that was upheld after review.
“That last one was fun to watch,” Herd coach Tony Gibson said.
