Today is a Severe Weather Alert Day for strong winds and afternoon rain. A line of gusty showers will race across western Pennsylvania between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The first change on this Alert Day that you'll notice is the wind. Gusts will ramp up throughout the morning - 30 to 45 mph gusts are possible. The wind will continue strengthening with a narrow line of gusty showers this afternoon. Some of the strongest gusts could peak around 50 mph. The wind will ease up this evening.

The gusts will be strong enough to blow away fall or Halloween decorations and cause some tree damage.
