Yuma County will celebrate the grand opening of the new Tacna Water Facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The event will take place at the facility located at 8275 S. Avenue 40E in Tacna.

Local officials, community leaders and representatives from funding agencies are expected to attend the ceremony, which is free and open to the public. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about the project’s long-term benefits to the community.

The new water treatment and distribution system marks the culmination of nearly a decade of work aimed at improving water quality for the rural community, located about 40 miles east of Yuma. It replaces a deteriorating water system that had been in place for more than 40 years.
