Mumbai, Oct 19: Central Railway will operate 1,702 special trains during the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals to help passengers travel to their destinations and celebrate with their families, officials said on Saturday.
CPRO Swapnil Nila told news agency that the trains will depart from major stations including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Pune, Kolhapur, and Nagpur. Over 800 of these trains will connect passengers to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and the northeastern states, while others will serve additional routes across the country.
To ensure passenger comfort and safety, holding areas with a capacity of over 3,000 passengers each have been set up at major stations, equipped with food, water, toilets, and fans. Extra ticket counters and mobile
