Mike Simonson joined the Des Moines City Council just a year and a half ago in a special election after Councilwoman Connie Boesen’s promotion to mayor.
He did not require any time to get comfortable with the role, and his quick adjustment has been to the city’s benefit. He deserves a full four-year term at an at-large council members and voters should deliver it to him this fall.
