Australia has crushed India by seven wickets with 29 balls to spare in a rain-affected ODI series opener in Perth.
Four rain delays, totalling three hours and 40 minutes, caused havoc as India stuttered to 9-136 off 26 overs in front of 42,423 spectators at Perth Stadium on Sunday.
Under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, Australia required just 131 for victory from 26 overs.
Captain Mitch Marsh (46 not out off 52 balls) and Josh Philippe (37 off 29) ensured Australia made light work of the run chase.
Marsh struck three sixes and two fours as Australia reached the victory target in 21.1 overs, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
The result also snapped India's eight-match winning streak in ODIs.
Debutant Matt Renshaw got in on the fun late with an unbeaten 21 off 24
