A fire at a Candia vehicle salvage yard Saturday destroyed 28 vehicles and damaged 19 others, fire officials said.
The Candia Fire Department responded to 134 Raymond Road at 6:27 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of a vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived to find multiple vehicles engulfed in flames and requested assistance from Auburn, Deerfield and Raymond fire departments.
Seventeen firefighters used approximately 15,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze, which affected 47 vehicles total at the salvage yard that stores several thousand vehicles, Candia Fire Department said in a release.
