Hensall’s bad dog that went on a tear through the tiny Bluewater village has been found and quarantined.
Ontario Provincial Police in Huron County said the dog, described as a “pit bull” type, had been on the lam since Friday after it attacked a pedestrian in the village that’s located 60 kilometres north of London.
The dog continued to be aggressive when police arrived at about 1 p.m. to investigate, so much so that one of the officers took a shot at it with their gun, police said.
The canine bounded south toward Bluewater Coast elementary school on York Street, prompting police to alert the school to keep the students indoors until the suspect pooch had been dealt with, police said.
The injured pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.
