A semi-truck crashed on I-24 eastbound early Sunday morning, causes traffic that lasted for hours.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), it happened around 4:30am as roads were wet from morning showers.

TDOT reported it as a single-vehicle crash.

Nearly four hours later, crews were still on scene at 8:15am working to clean up the damage.

We could see the truck flipped onto its side, with debris seemingly spilled out.

I-24 eastbound near Cummings Road, just south of Cummings Highway, was down to one lane for most of the morning.

We reached out to Chattanooga Police to figure out what exactly happened, and we will provide updates as we learn more.
