Sam Fox has been thinking about history and legacy as he prepares to open his latest concept – Society Swan – at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Standing outside of his new restaurant – described as “part timeless American brasserie, part French daydream” – Fox reminisced with the Business Journal about the restaurants that used to be located on the south side of Fashion Square, facing Camelback Road.

“This used to be the happy hour row. With Z’Tejas, Kona Grill and PF Chang’s, everyone used to come here for happy hour,” Fox said. “We want to bring that back.”

Fox, the founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, designed the upstairs bar of Society Swan — as well as the menu — to accommodate a throng of happy hour guests, even at a price point lower than his other concepts.
