Budgam ~ The upcoming Budgam Assembly by-election is set to witness a high-profile contest between two members of the influential Aga family, as both the National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced their candidates on Sunday.

The National Conference has fielded Aga Syed Mehmood, a senior party leader and former minister, while the PDP has nominated Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi as its candidate. Both belong to the renowned Aga dynasty of Budgam—united in faith but long divided in politics.
