RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — According to court records submitted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a state lawmaker has been arrested and hit with multiple charges, including a DWI in Raleigh.
Senator Norm Wesley Sanderson Jr. was stopped at the intersection of Trinity Road and Edwards Mill Road on Saturday night, according to court records. Sanderson was charged with the following: • Misdemeanor driving while impaired • Misdemeanor open container of alcoholic beverage • Misdemeanor failure to obey a traffic officer
According to court records, Sanderson's civil license was revoked because his breathalyzer test result showed his alcohol level was at 0.16.
Sanderson posted a $2,000 bond the same night, court records show.
