MONTICELLO – “We all have the right to free speech. And this flag belongs to all of us.”
That was Wurtsboro resident Janet Davis’ message while she attended a No Kings rally along Broadway in Monticello Saturday afternoon. She was one of several hundred people who lined the sidewalks of the main street. There were reportedly 7 million people at 2,600 locations around the country protesting the Trump administration’s policies. In Monticello, there were people from all walks of life, including young and old, and an inflatable chicken, and a lot of horn honking in support of the demonstrators.
