A person was killed Sunday morning in a vehicle crash triggered by a wrong-way driver on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Burbank, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the northbound freeway at Alameda Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the accident was triggered by a motorist who was driving southbound in the northbound lanes. The fatality was confirmed by the Los Angeles Fire Department at 3:57 a.m., the CHP said.
A Sigalert issued at 4:28 a.m. closing all northbound lanes of the freeway at Alameda Avenue was canceled at 8:46 a.m.
