INDIANAPOLIS -- If anyone has been thinking about getting a pet, today may be the day to do it.

The Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS) said in a Facebook post that they are out of space.

"We are officially at 0 open kennels for incoming dogs, and we’re at a critical point where we must make space before facing incredibly tough decisions," IACS wrote.

Six appointments are scheduled on Sunday for people bringing in animals, yet no cage space is available.

IACS is asking people who are registered to foster already to consider opening their home to an animal in need.

IACS is located at 2600 South Harding Street and is open seven days a week, 12 to 6:30 p.m.

Adoptions are free.
