One person was taken to hospital after firefighters were called to a house fire in the city’s southeast end on Sunday, London Fire Department officials said.

It was just before 1 p.m. on Sunday when fire officials announced on social media that crews were called to a house in the 500-block of Osgoode Drive – a residential street near the intersection of Southdale Road and Adelaide Street – after reports of a house catching fire.

Officials said the first firefighters arrived to find “heavy smoke and flames” visible on the main floor. They were quickly “knocking down the fire in the kitchen area” of the house, officials said. “Their swift actions and coordinated efforts helped bring the situation under control within minutes.”
