Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (15) passes the ball against the Las Vegas Raiders during the first quarter of the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Patrick Mahomes is saying what everyone else is thinking.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback lined up on a fourth-and-1 to begin the second quarter, hoping to draw the Las Vegas Raiders offside. Mahomes tried the hard count, hoping some cadence trickery would get Vegas to jump.

As per usual, no one flinched and the quarterback had some thoughts about the antics that were picked up by CBS' microphones.

"This (expletive) never (expletive) works man," Mahomes frustratingly said.

(Editor's note: The following video contains NSFW language.)

As the play clock ran down, teams normally opt to use a timeout or take the delay of game penalty before settling for a punt.

Mahomes instead snapped the ball, catching the Raiders off-guard in a different way as Kareem Hunt plowed ahead for the three-yard gain to pick up the first down.

The Chiefs would cap off the memorable moment with a touchdown pass to Hollywood Brown later in the drive to take a 14-0 lead.

It's unclear whether Mahomes' hot-mic moment was by design or in a moment of pure frustration, but perhaps other quarterbacks will take note and add that new trick to their bag going forward. Although they might opt for some less colorful language.
