TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida State University students gathered at Tully Gym to compete in a goalball tournament Sunday. Goalball is a sport designed for athletes of all visual abilities.

Organized by FSU Campus Recreation and the University of Choice Initiative, the tournament aims to foster inclusion and awareness during Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Goalball is played in teams of three, with players wearing blindfolds and using a ball embedded with bells to score by sound and touch.

FSU has hosted two goalball tournaments each year since 2017, one in the spring and one in the fall.

This year’s event began with a demonstration by an Olympian and a longtime goalball player, Norris Coster, who shared his journey into the sport.
