DETROIT, MI – A Michigan State Police trooper was injured on Sunday, Oct. 19, while investigating a crash.

The incident unfolded around 11 a.m. as the trooper was investigating a one-vehicle crash on the shoulder of the road near I-96 and Fullerton Avenue.

While the trooper was investigating that crash, a 55-year-old driving a Jeep Cherokee struck the back of the patrol vehicle. That collision pushed the trooper’s vehicle into the car involved in the first crash.

The trooper, who was in the patrol car at the time of the crash, was injured and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. The trooper’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
