CHICAGO — Dennis Allen may not have actually been out for revenge against his former employer, but he found it.

Allen, whom the New Orleans Saints fired midway through last season, coordinated a brutally effective defensive game plan against the Saints Sunday at Soldier Field. Chicago sacked quarterback Spencer Rattler four times and forced four turnovers while handing New Orleans a 26-14 loss.

Though Allen downplayed the significance of facing the Saints (1-6) in the days before the game, everyone else seemed to lean into it — including the scoreboard operator.
