SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) - A new candidate has entered the race for South Dakota Governor.

Allison Renville, a community advocate and political organizer in Sioux Falls has officially announced her candidacy for Governor of South Dakota in the 2026 election.

“I’m running for Governor because South Dakota deserves leadership that listens to every voice—from our farmers and small business owners to our tribal communities and working families,” Renville said in a press release.

Renville's campaign will focus on expanding access to healthcare, investing in education, protecting South Dakota's natural resources, building stronger partnerships between state and Tribal governments, and growing the economy by supporting small businesses and agriculture.
