Over two years ago, a Portuguese crime show premiered on Netflix, initially going unnoticed by many. Created by Augusto Fraga, Turn of the Tide dramatically recounts the true story of when 500 kilograms of cocaine washed up on the shore of São Miguel Island. The first season quickly burst out of the herd of new Netflix releases and ended up taking a place in the streaming platform’s most-watched global leaderboard. Eduardo, Silvia, Carlos, and Rafael — played by José Condessa, Helena Caldeira, André Leitão, and Rodrigo Tomás, respectively — are a close-knit group of friends whose lives are turned upside down when they discover the missing cocaine shipment.
