Aston Villa defender Lucas Digne is simply built different.

In the second half of Villa's trip to Tottenham on Sunday, the left-back was left writhing in agony after a challenge from Kevin Danso inside the box. Jamie O'Hara and Gabby Agbonlahor row over combined Tottenham and Aston Villa XI

Although Danso won the ball, he clattered into Digne's ankle on the follow-through and left more than a scratch on the France international.

Despite the challenge and the pleas of Villa captain John McGinn, referee Simon Hooper remained unmoved as Digne remained in serious discomfort.

Given he needed attention from Villa's medical staff, Digne had to briefly exit the field before he returned.
